Our holiday season always starts off deliciously early with our anniversary on the 18th.  Marinda was very kind to have Connor and Alaina over to play with her boys for the afternoon and evening so that Anthony and I could have some time to ourselves.  We didn't have a plan as to what we were going to do with our free time, so we went through the drive-through at Starbucks and sat in the parking lot chatting for about an hour.  It was a cold, gray day, and we were a bit disappointed that the forecasted snow hadn't showed up, so we went on an impromptu drive up Little Cottonwood canyon to find it ourselves!

It was so gorgeous, we had to pull off the road near Snowbird and go for a hike, ignoring the fact that Anthony was in loafers and I was in boots with heels!  It was worth the cold!

Happy Anniversary, love!

I'm not very good at directing people in photos, so I told Anthony to do the first thing that came to my mind, "Give me a peace sign like an Asian teenager!"

The roads weren't the greatest as we were coming up, so we wanted to get off of the mountain before dusk.  Neither of us had ever been to Ruby River Steakhouse, so we decided to pop in there for some dinner.  Before digging in, Anthony told me that his choice of filet and crab would be what he would want for his last meal.  That statement still stands, just not from Ruby River. :P

After dinner, we picked up some very happy and very tired children from the Whites' home and went to see the lights at Thanksgiving Point.  It was magical!  I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate eight lovely years together!

I love all your beautiful pictures! But they are making me cold. I've never been to Ruby River either, and from the sound of it, I shouldn't feel like I'm missing anything.
Do you think with Mike's Asian eyes, he could do a good Asian-teenager-peace-sign picture?
