Colorado Trip, Part 2

Day two of our trip was Papa's birthday!

The morning began with Connor and Alaina insisting that Papa give them a ride in the Burley. Hanna, Papa's crazily attached dachshund, insisted that she come along.

Connor was so excited to be at Nana and Papa's and stayed up way past his bed time the night before. With our kids, the later you put them to bed, the earlier they rise and you better be prepared for some tantrums. Connor spent lots of time in time-out.

Most of the day was spent fatting around. In the evening, Connor helped Papa open his birthday cards.

This shot of Ryan and Alaina makes me smile, since I have a picture of the two of them from a year and a half ago just like it. Alaina has always had a soft spot for Uncle Ryan, and when she was a tiny baby, he was the only man besides Daddy that she would let hold her.

The boys played Bocce Ball while the steaks were on the grill for Papa's birthday dinner.

The fastest way to Alaina's heart is to spin her around. She's always loved it.

The fastest way to Connor's heart is...Papa.

We had a gorgeous, delicious dinner of bacon wrapped filets, asparagus, salad, potatoes, and garlic bread. I'm not a huge red meat fan, but these filets were perfect.

The next day, Nana and I went shopping on Pearl Street in Boulder.

The people watching was the best I've had in a while! Gotta love those hippie towns! The street performers were awesome, juggling knives and fire while on unicycles ten feet in the air! When we sat down to eat on a little Italian restaurant's patio, there was a classically trained violinist playing near us. He was phenomenal!

If you don't want to lick your computer screen when you look at what we had for lunch, you may need to adjust your settings.

After lunch, we wandered into a bookstore. It was a fun surprise to see my sister's book on display! Way to go, Janet!

At home, we had a beautiful Colorado sunset. In sharp contrast to our mountainous terrain, I felt like all I could see was sky from Nana and Papa's backyard. You can actually see three towns from their house!

I promise to not post any more flare photos of this trip after these two. Bear with me. They're pretty. :)
