The Dietrich family has been put through the ringer this past week. Alaina's been battling high jaundice levels, and her newborn infant screen came back highly irregular, flagging for a disease called Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia. After trips to 4 different emergency rooms and many, many needles, we have initial results that came back promising that she could be perfectly healthy, but I wanted to let everyone know. Do yourselves a favor and don't Google it yet, until we have an official diagnosis, since her case is very treatable with oral steroids. She exhibits none of the physical signs of CAH, and all of the doctors agree that that's very reassuring.
Thanks again, Mom, for helping so much with Connor and around the house. We wouldn't have survived this week without you!

i hope things are looking better for you and alaina- how stressful! and to think we were seriously stressed out about the bili bed- that was nothing!
Oh wow - sounds complicated. I hope that it really is all just nothing and you can forget this all happened!
Carolyn, I didn't even realize that you had Alaina yet! Bad me!*S* I'm sorry that she's having health problems and I hope that everything is okay, but as a parent, I know that we all worry about our precious children! Congratulations on your new baby girl.
I posted a lot of photos from the family reunion(finally since we've been out of town) and I have to apologize that I forgot Connor's name when I was mentioning your family not being there. We miss you!
I hope things all turn out and she gets better. We love you!
I'm sure it's stressful going through all of this. I hope everything is going okay and that nothing is wrong with Alaina. I'll be thinking about you and be waiting for an update.
